Ragnarok Civil War.jpg

In case you’ve missed it, after a lot of fan made trailers that looked truly amazing, we finally have a REAL teaser trailer for Thor Ragnarok.

Fans have been debating for years on what plot line Ragnarok would follow. Would it be the fall of Thor Odinson, the rise and return of Odinson and the conflict with the clone known as Ragnarok, or would we see something else entirely?

It would seem that we may have a few clues on that.

Take a look……..

Yeah I know, I missed last week. Well, not to worry. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see last week’s releases.

This week we have a lot to be grateful for, it’s like Christmas. Reprints, trades and more proliferate the racks. The Beauty, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Core, and Dollface just to name a few. Not to mention the fact that Action Comics is pushing close to issue #1000. That issue will almost assuredly be one bear of a book. Well, I’ve wasted enough of your time……

It’s never a bad week to be a comic reader but this week we here at The Nerdery have something to celebrate, THE RETURN OF THINK TANK!!!! One of the most thought provoking comics that has ever come through the show makes it’s return!! Don’t miss it. The Nerdery’s Best Writer winner Matt Hawkins brings back the character that is a literal oxymoron for a new set of internal and external conflicts that, no doubt, will continue to shock and awe.

Excuse me, I need to go get my copy.

Comics are one of those things that will spend weeks being pretty good, and then on week will drop a figurative piano of greatness on your head. Call this piano week. JLA V Power Rangers, JLA Rebirth #1, three new true believers issues, Hal Jordan, Clark Kent, Jessica Jones, Kingpin and top it all off with Moonshine, and that’s a helluva week.

Buckle up kiddos, it’s going to be an awesome week.

Anyway, IT’S TIME TO RAID THE RACKS!!!

It’s a relatively sleepy week for readers. What few events that are currently happening, don’t have any direct issues out this week. Cheer up though, Ben Reilly is coming back, Comicpalooza is just around the corner and GoGames360 is almost here!!

Yes, DC will be raising prices on a few titles (full write up coming) but they will be adding digital codes in those books. So I don’t expect a drop in sales. Marvel has been doing just that for years to great success.

I seem to be rambling…………..

Now that the Presidential Election is over, we can get back to the things we love, comics. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m dying to know what happened to Hal Jordan and Sinestro in that explosion of will. Invinsible Iron Man #1’s cover gives us a Riri Williams as Ironheart, that should be a good read. Don’t forget to go visit our friends over at Captain Jacks E-lixers and All Star Comics!

Marvel and DC are still duking it out to see who will take the biggest sales numbers for July. Civil War II and Rebirth are two major events that seem to have opposite intentions for their respective publishers. The events also seem to be having an opposite effect from what was originally intended. Civil War II was meant to throw utter chaos into the Marvel Universe. Instead, it seems to be cleaning house. Divided characters, deaths, and clear definitions are drawing pretty dark lines for the fans to distinguish this from that. On the other side of the fence, DC’s Rebirth planned to clean up the New 52, DC You, and Pre-New 52 continuities and make everything as streamlined as a multiverse can get. What DC is actually doing is making a total mess of everything. While it is entertaining, it is very frustrating and confusing with 3+ Supermen, 2 Flashes and who knows what’s going on with Aquaman.

Anyhow, Postal Volume 3 has officially begun!!!  excuse me………..

I must be going now……

I’ve got to raid the racks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Civil War II and Rebirth are still going at it strong. Marvel dominated for the month of June with 40.08% of the market. DC came in second with 29.93%, and Image has their 7.88% market share in a kung fu grip. However, DC is grabbing up unit sales and is rapidly becoming a threat to Marvel with only a 12.48% difference in units sold! Not surprising is the fact that seven of the top ten issues in June, were DC titles. DC also has a firm grip on trade paper backs for June, taking five out of the top ten TPB’s for the month. In a world where Marvel has dominated for the past few years, DC seems to be on track to dethrone the reigning king.

This week, the publishers are giving us a shining example of what comics have to offer. No matter what you’re into, there’s a book out there for you. There’s quite a few out there for me. So…………
