It’s Wednesday, that means a whole slew of new comics are on the racks! Both Marvel and Image have some exciting reprints coming out. It seems Marvel is getting ready for Spider-Man: Homecoming and are releasing a great deal of True Believer reprints of some of Spidey’s #1’s. Image is releasing a reprint of Spawn #1 complete with a foil cover and a director’s cut. I’m not 100% on what a Director’s Cut of a comic would be, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Plus, a new title from Top Rated Publisher, Top Cow is always worth getting excited about. DC is pushing out two more Warner Bros. crossovers this week that can’t be missed either. Come on, Elmer Fudd and Batman is going to be hilarious, and Jonah Hex and Yosemite Sam is just to perfect of a match up to miss. So without any further adieu…..

We woke today with the news of Adam West’s passing. Adam was such a huge part of a lot of our childhoods and even into our adulthood, so this news hit so many of us hard. I know I can’t be the only one that ran around in my Batman Under-roos pretending to save the day from a nasty villain or to this day still wanting his fun gadgets neatly tucked away in that utility belt. He was best known from his portrayal of Batman from the 1966-68 T.V. series and the younger generation might better know him from Family Guy, where he played a comical  version of himself. Adam had been acting since 1959 and worked right up until his passing so everyone has come across him from at least one of his many projects. He’s done everything from serious films, kids movies to cartoons (adult and children’s). In any project he worked he was immediately recognizable, his voice alone is iconic. You can’t help but adore a serious actor who is comfortable enough to make fun of himself or take on more comical roles. I think that’s one thing that made him so endearing. It breaks my heart to lay another legend to rest. Rest In Peace Mr. West we will carry you in our childhood memories and remember you always. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends from all of us here at The Nerdery.

This past week has been amazing. Red Dog #4, Eclipse #7, and so much more just days after Houston’s Comicpalooza (more on that to come). After a slight delay, DC’s Button series continues, and rumor has it that it will lead up to the Countdown to Doomsday event. Looks like DC is working a pretty awesome long game. After a huge delay, Justice League VS Mighty Morphin Power Rangers continues with issue #4 (it’s about time). Meanwhile, Image celebrates its 25th anniversary and Spawn’s Anniversary with reprints of Spawn #1 and an array of Spawn variant covers for other titles. Marvel continues their Secret Empire with issue #2 and drops a new Luke Cage #1 and Generation X #1.

It’s never a bad week to be a comic book reader.
