What’s Out Wednesday 3/15/17 – 3/22/17

Yeah I know, I missed last week. Well, not to worry. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see last week’s releases.

This week we have a lot to be grateful for, it’s like Christmas. Reprints, trades and more proliferate the racks. The Beauty, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Core, and Dollface just to name a few. Not to mention the fact that Action Comics is pushing close to issue #1000. That issue will almost assuredly be one bear of a book. Well, I’ve wasted enough of your time……

What’s Out Wednesday 2/22/17

It’s NEW COMIC BOOK DAY!!! I should calm down but I can’t, there’s so much coming out that it’s easy to find a reason to get excited. Beauty is back at it, so is Marvel with a slew of True Believers prints including Old Man Logan #1. Shirts are coming to The Nerdery, so stay glued to this website to get yours!!!

What’s Out Wednesday 1/25/17

It’s a relatively sleepy week for readers. What few events that are currently happening, don’t have any direct issues out this week. Cheer up though, Ben Reilly is coming back, Comicpalooza is just around the corner and GoGames360 is almost here!!

Yes, DC will be raising prices on a few titles (full write up coming) but they will be adding digital codes in those books. So I don’t expect a drop in sales. Marvel has been doing just that for years to great success.

Flash Update: HellBoyIII and Action #1

Sometimes news comes down the wire that you all should really be aware of. But rarely does it come with enough information for a full write-up. So instead, I’m combining a few of those things to get it to you.

Hellboy III?

Yeah, Ron Perlman and Mike Mignola have both told us it’s not going to happen. It would appear that may not be definitive. There’s still a few hours left, SO GO VOTE!!!

Action Comics #1 For $15.99

Yep, that’s right. LootCrate’s January box carries an Origin label. What all will be in it for sure is currently unknown (as per usual). But it has been confirmed that it will contain a reprint of Action Comics #1. The comic book that started the superhero trend that we enjoy so much today. DC has issued several reprints over the years, each printed on the current paper standard with the adds updated as well. One reprint added pages that were removed from the final draft of the original print. LootCrate is giving us something special. This reprint will be printed on 1938 standard papers with all the original adds. More than likely LootCrate will have their logo printed on the cover somewhere, aside from that, it will be an extremely loyal representation of the 10 cent trendsetter.

What’s Out Wednesday 11/9/16

Now that the Presidential Election is over, we can get back to the things we love, comics. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m dying to know what happened to Hal Jordan and Sinestro in that explosion of will. Invinsible Iron Man #1’s cover gives us a Riri Williams as Ironheart, that should be a good read. Don’t forget to go visit our friends over at Captain Jacks E-lixers and All Star Comics!

What’s Out Wednesday 7/13/16

Civil War II and Rebirth are still going at it strong. Marvel dominated for the month of June with 40.08% of the market. DC came in second with 29.93%, and Image has their 7.88% market share in a kung fu grip. However, DC is grabbing up unit sales and is rapidly becoming a threat to Marvel with only a 12.48% difference in units sold! Not surprising is the fact that seven of the top ten issues in June, were DC titles. DC also has a firm grip on trade paper backs for June, taking five out of the top ten TPB’s for the month. In a world where Marvel has dominated for the past few years, DC seems to be on track to dethrone the reigning king.

This week, the publishers are giving us a shining example of what comics have to offer. No matter what you’re into, there’s a book out there for you. There’s quite a few out there for me. So…………
