Hey, it’s JD again, here to give you the list of what all is releasing today. It’s never a bad week to be a comic book reader. Be sure to check out Motor Girl from Eisner Award Winner, Terry Moore over at Abstract Studios. He’s a Houston local, and we love local artists and writers. There’s so many great issues coming out this week, I couldn’t even imagine trying to list it (so look for yourself below).

Don’t forget to come meet The Nerdery at Lee College at the BLC Mini-Con tomorrow!!

I know, I know, I’m really late this week. It’s been busy around here this week due to The Best of 2016 Poll and Giveaway. I still managed to make it to my local comic book store to feed my addiction. I’m pleased to tell you, that a full review is coming for Best of Poll Nominee, Sunflower by 451 Media.

With everything going on in our world (comic books) what with the movies, games, and television, it’s easy to forget where and why it all started. Comics have been, and always will be an escape from our everyday lives into another world, a world where we’re a detective, a hero, a villain, or an explorer. It’s Christmas time. It’s the perfect time to share your experience and your passion with someone who needs it. Introduce someone to comics. If you see a little kid in the comic book store, buy them a comic. It’s only a few dollars. I’ve done this on multiple occasions and trust me, the look on their face is worth a long box of comics.

It’s Christmas, be merry, and share the joy that comes with our passion.

After 451Media sent us a group of #1’s, I had to see what Red Dog was all about. Having read so many of their first issues, I came to expect a lot from the independent publisher. They’ve branded into my brain that no matter how cliche the story may seem at first, my initial expectations couldn’t be more wrong.
Written by the genius, Rob Cohen, Red Dog is filled with the no-nonsense, direct story telling approach that has made his films such a success.Image result for 451MEDIA RED DOG
