What’s Out Wednesday 11/30/16

With everything going on in our world (comic books) what with the movies, games, and television, it’s easy to forget where and why it all started. Comics have been, and always will be an escape from our everyday lives into another world, a world where we’re a detective, a hero, a villain, or an explorer. It’s Christmas time. It’s the perfect time to share your experience and your passion with someone who needs it. Introduce someone to comics. If you see a little kid in the comic book store, buy them a comic. It’s only a few dollars. I’ve done this on multiple occasions and trust me, the look on their face is worth a long box of comics.

It’s Christmas, be merry, and share the joy that comes with our passion.

451 Media Sets Pages Ablaze

A while back, The Nerdery was contacted by 451 Media and wanted our input on some of their books. At the time, I hadn’t a clue what to expect from the publisher. I had never read any of their titles and wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the New York based publisher. I can say with great confidence, I regret not picking up any of their books a long time ago. Don’t be mistaken, you will be too. They sent us seven issues, all #1’s of different titles with phenomenal results!

What’s Out Wednesday 11/15/16

Thundercats, He-Man, Superman, Batman, Spiderman, and THANOS!! It’s a stellar week to be a comic book reader. Then again, it’s almost impossible for there to be a bad week. Marvel is shelling the market with new titles everyweek. Some of these #1’s are destined to be one shots, and others will see years of life. Either way, be sure to get what you can while you can.

Meanwhile, you can expect some big news to come from The Nerdery in the next few months. We’re making a lot of friends, raising more money, and getting new equipment. Plus, don’t miss your chance to vote on The Best of 2016 poll in a few weeks!!

Now that the Presidential Election is over, we can get back to the things we love, comics. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m dying to know what happened to Hal Jordan and Sinestro in that explosion of will. Invinsible Iron Man #1’s cover gives us a Riri Williams as Ironheart, that should be a good read. Don’t forget to go visit our friends over at Captain Jacks E-lixers and All Star Comics!

What’s Out Wednesday 11/02/16

With all the big news with The Flash, Deadpool, and all the new trailers, it’s been an awesome and crazy time to be a comic book fan. Not all the news is good news, but it’s not all bad either. I guess that goes with the territory of being readers. I have faith that everything will turn out for the better in the end. A lot is happening this week, Avengers #1, Animosity #3, Eden’s Fall #3, Eclipse #3, Green Lanterns #10, and the return of Thor in Unworthy Thor #1. No matter your interests, there’s a perfect comic for you releasing this week.
