Stan Lee
“The Man” needs no introduction. If you’ve ever read a comic book or seen any of the multitude of Marvel movies, you know the name Stan Lee.
But there’s a great deal about Stan you probably don’t know.

It’s a rather sleepy week, as far as ground breaking issues dropping. DK:III finally drops issue #5, after a very long wait. DC is also starting it’s round of annuals for the year. Marvel is releasing Spider-Man/Deadpool #6, and the much awaited Captain America: Steve Rogers #2. Everyone is DYING to know what that “Hail Hydra” was all about. Other than that, there’s a ton of new publishers now releasing through Diamond. That means, new independent titles for us all.

I’m going to make it short this week, since I’m running a little late. If you watch or listen to us, you’ve head a few reviews on Overground Comics’ America. Today, you get your chance to read it for yourself! (Lucky you.) Marvel’s Civil War II spins tie-ins this week, DC’s Rebirth has it’s web as well. Postal Volume 3 TPB hits the shelf this week as well. We had the privilege to speak with artist, Isaac Goodhart at Comicpalooza (WATCH IT HERE) and co-writer, Matt Hawkins (WATCH THAT HERE). They had a great deal to say with what’s coming from Top Cow that has us all very excited.
Ok, enough. Let’s raid the racks!

DC’s Rebirth continues this week with astonishing success. Seriously, if you’re not reading, you’re missing out. On the other side of the fence, Marvel’s Civil War II tramples on as well. This is another title that is really shaking things up. Many of us assumed when we saw the teasers, that Civil War II would just be more of the deceased horse abuse Marvel has been cranking out. In truth, the first issue really surprised me. For all those fans of Fight Club, Fight Club 2 TPB drops this week. Image, Dark Horse, IDW continue their reign over the creator owned universes. At this point, it’s never a bad week to be a comic book reader.

Marvel has officially put Civil War II into full swing. At the same time, DC’s Rebirth is in full effect. I’m more excited for Rebirth, myself. But, to each his own. Classics Illustrated continues their print run on all of your favorite fairy tales and bedtime stories. Don’t forget our friend Matt Hawkins’ Think Tank when you raid the rack. So, their are great books, and great stories just waiting to be read. Get out there and get your fix. For those in the Houston area, remember to go check out Toxic City Comics for all the best deals.
