Rumors have been floating around for quite some time about a Back To The Future reboot. There was even whispers of a chapter four. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. Bob Gale, writer and producer of the trilogy, went on record to say…

“Let’s face it, we’ve seen a lot of sequels that are made years and years later and I don’t think I can name one that’s any good, that lives up to the originals. I don’t think you can recapture it.”

Robert Zemeckis, who co-wrote and directed the trilogy, went on record to support Gale…

“We’re not going to do Director’s Cuts or make a 3D version or change the special effects. People love them the way they are, we think they’re really good. Let’ s not mess with it.”

You might say that’s a coffin nail, and I would say you’re wrong.

Back To The Future is making the move to the comic book rack. Believe it or not, many of our favorite stories have found sanctuary upon those same racks thanks to IDW. IDW is a safe haven for many cultural icons of the 80’s. G.I. Joe, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Ghostbusters have all found a comic book publication home with IDW.

Gale wil be one of the great masterminds writing this much awaited title. He’s gone on record to CONFIRM what the comic will center on.

Fans have been begging Gale for stories of more alternate times lines. Even more, fans want a prequel. This title is meant specifically to answer fans. Not a sequel, but a series of “what ifs”. I, for one, will be subscribing to this title and report every issue to you, our lovely readers. Don’t those covers look heavy?!?!?

What’s more, the first issue will drop on October 21, 2015…………….RIng a bell?

Well it should, that just happens to be the date that Doc and Marty arrive in the “future”.

So the movie was right, they will arrive at their scheduled date. That’s a great execution of good planning. IDW, you just got a 5 cape rating on nostalgia.
